Chess club meeting No.9

About to take place this evening. Some games got to be played, some kings got to be checked and some beers got to be drunk. I am out of the game on this one. Not my day and time I suppose. But game still the same and either you play it or you going to get played. Feel me! So make your moves right and don't give up the fight. Good luck to all the chess players.

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

C-3PO: "Now be careful, Artoo." R2-D2: "(Beeps and blips and takes one of Chewbacca's pieces in the chess-like game)" Chewbacca: "(Grrrs)" C-3PO: "He made a fair move. Screaming about it can't help you." Han: "Let him have it. It's not wise to upset a Wookiee." Chewbacca: "(Continues to grrr)" C-3PO: "But sir, nobody worries about upsetting a droid." Han: "That's 'cause droids don't pull people's arms out of their socket when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that." Chewbacca: "(Grrrs)" C-3PO: "I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, Artoo. Let the Wookiee win." Chewbacca: "(Grrrs)"

The Seventh Seal

The Seventh Seal (Swedish: Det sjunde inseglet) is a 1957 Swedish drama film directed by Ingmar Bergman, about the journey of a medieval knight (Max von Sydow) across a plague-ridden landscape, and a monumental game of chess between himself and the personification of Death, who has come to take his life. Bergman developed the film from his own play Wood Painting. The title refers to a passage from the Book of Revelation, used both at the very start of the film, and again towards the end, beginning with the words "And when the Lamb had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour" (Revelation 8:1). Here the motif of silence refers to the "silence of God" which is a major theme of the film. The film is considered a major classic of world cinema. It helped Bergman to establish himself as a world-renowned director and contains scenes which have become iconic through parodies and homages.

Chess Genius

Liquid Swords is the second solo studio album by American rapper and Wu-Tang Clan-member GZA, released November 7, 1995 on Geffen Records. It is considered to be one of the best Wu-Tang Clan solo albums along with Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…. The album went platinum and was critically acclaimed for its lyrically complex and musically hypnotic style. The Chicago Tribune cited Liquid Swords as "one of the most substantial lyrical journeys in hip-hop history". In 1998, The Source magazine selected the album as one of its 100 Best Rap Albums.

The album's cover was designed by DC-Milestone Comics chief artist Denys Cowan, according to GZA's personal manager Geoffrey L. Garfield, who commissioned Cowan. Garfield, an avid comic book fan, said the cover art was supervised under the auspices of GZA GrafX, a subsidiary company of GZA Entertainment owned by Genius and Garfield. The concept of the chessboard with its sword-wielding warriors was conceived by Genius, an avid chess player. The Genius version of the Wu-Tang Clan logo, the "G" using the logo iconography, was rendered by Wu-Tang Clan DJ Mathematics who was also an accomplished graphic artist.
