C-3PO: "Now be careful, Artoo." R2-D2: "(Beeps and blips and takes one of Chewbacca's pieces in the chess-like game)" Chewbacca: "(Grrrs)" C-3PO: "He made a fair move. Screaming about it can't help you." Han: "Let him have it. It's not wise to upset a Wookiee." Chewbacca: "(Continues to grrr)" C-3PO: "But sir, nobody worries about upsetting a droid." Han: "That's 'cause droids don't pull people's arms out of their socket when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that." Chewbacca: "(Grrrs)" C-3PO: "I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, Artoo. Let the Wookiee win." Chewbacca: "(Grrrs)"

Chess Genius
Liquid Swords is the second solo studio album by American rapper and Wu-Tang Clan-member GZA, released November 7, 1995 on Geffen Records. It is considered to be one of the best Wu-Tang Clan solo albums along with Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…. The album went platinum and was critically acclaimed for its lyrically complex and musically hypnotic style. The Chicago Tribune cited Liquid Swords as "one of the most substantial lyrical journeys in hip-hop history". In 1998, The Source magazine selected the album as one of its 100 Best Rap Albums.
The album's cover was designed by DC-Milestone Comics chief artist Denys Cowan, according to GZA's personal manager Geoffrey L. Garfield, who commissioned Cowan. Garfield, an avid comic book fan, said the cover art was supervised under the auspices of GZA GrafX, a subsidiary company of GZA Entertainment owned by Genius and Garfield. The concept of the chessboard with its sword-wielding warriors was conceived by Genius, an avid chess player. The Genius version of the Wu-Tang Clan logo, the "G" using the logo iconography, was rendered by Wu-Tang Clan DJ Mathematics who was also an accomplished graphic artist.

Bobby Fischer
Robert James "Bobby" Fischer (March 9, 1943 – January 17, 2008) was an American chess Grandmaster, and the eleventh World Chess Champion. He is widely considered one of the greatest chess players of all time. Later in life he renounced his US citizenship and became an Icelandic citizen.
Fischer's achievements are legendary. At 13, he won a brilliancy that became known as the Game of the Century. Starting at age 14, he played in eight United States Championships, winning each by at least a point. At 15½, he became both the youngest Grandmaster and the youngest Candidate for the World Championship up until that time. He won the 1963-64 US championship 11-0, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament. In the early 1970s he became the most dominant player in modern history—winning the 1970 Interzonal by a record 3½-point margin and winning 20 consecutive games, including two unprecedented 6-0 sweeps in the Candidates Matches. Mystery of Chessboxing
[Wu-Tang movie dialogue]
The game of chess, is like a swordfight
You must think first, before you move
Toad style is immensely strong, and immune to nearly any weapon
When it's properly used, it's almost invincible

Chess club meeting 11-11-2009
Attractive girl with tight fitting clothes came in to the chess zone with some guy, sat down and acknowledged the vibe coming from the
two intense games playing concurrently. Girl wanted to talk long about social dysfunction and the guy had to pretend to be interested all night
so that he could 'close the deal'. Conversation was insignificant and banal and difficult to listen to. Pretty sure the girl was intentionally
trying to bore the guy and would have rather hung-out with the chess club alpha males.

Ray Charles
Ray Charles (1930 - 2004) (California, 1966)
By Bill Ray (Life Magazine)
Ray Charles, the soul, blues and gospel music legend, learned chess in 1965 whilst recovering from heroin addiction.
The movie Ray (2004), directed by Taylor Hackford, has a hospital scene showing Ray Charles (played by Jamie Foxx) playing chess with his doctor. Ray learned and played chess without the aid of sight, as he began to lose his vision at the age of 6 years, being totally blind by the age of 7 years.
Ray's chess board was designed with the dark squares being slightly elevated, and the tops of the dark pieces having sharper edges compared with the white pieces. Each of the board's squares had a hole to fit the pieces into - much like a travel set (see photo above).
A game between Ray Charles vrs Larry Melvyn Evans in 2002 is available on chessgames.com
